Course Description:
This is a course addressing challenges with common plumbing service requests. Topics will include major fixture components from the water meter and pressure regulator to hot- and cold-water supply lines. The supply lines discussed will include copper, PVC, CPVC, galvanized, PEX, and the tools used to assemble a watertight system. The course will also review typical basin, bath, and shower fixtures, associated drains, and the tools and techniques for opening them.
Learning Outcomes:
● Understand the functional parts of a plumbing system.
● Recognize different types of pipes and valves.
● Identify best practices for plumbing preventive maintenance.
● Learn the best methods for clearing a clogged drain.
● Understand common toilet maintenance issues and how to resolve them.
● Troubleshoot different types of plumbing leaks.
