Event Details

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course covers two important priorities maintenance associates face: general site safety and shop organization. We’ll provide an introduction to OSHA standards and regulations, although this is not a
replacement for, and does not fulfill, any obligations for OSHA training. In addition to these laws and rules, some examples of on-the-job applications will be discussed, including lockout/tagout procedures, safety
data sheets, and PPE. After completing this course, you will know how to identify hazards, reduce accidents, develop safe working procedures for your work site, and better understand the positive outcomes of a well organized shop and work area.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Understand the basics of OSHA guidelines for PPE.
  • Identify potential hazards that require the use of PPE.
  • Understand safety considerations for storing supplies.
  • Recognize tool safety and ladder safety practices.
  • Understand the benefits of proper shop organization.
