Event Details

Session I: Landlord-Tenant Law Boot Camp 9:30  - 11:30 am
Session II: Fair Housing 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Session I: The Landlord-Tenant Boot Camp is a 2 Hour Realtor CE approved seminar which covers a variety of aspects of Florida law that property managers and owners need to be aware of.  Attorneys Jerron Kelley and Conrad Gant will provide you with tools to improve your property's Return on Investment, and to stay out of the courtroom when possible. The attorneys will also provide participants with tools needed to effectively navigate the most common legal pitfalls that landlords and property managers face when leasing and enforcing lease terms.

Topics Include:

  • Improving your clients' bottom line & occupancy rates
  • Effective lease provisions to assist landlords
  • Landlords’ duty to maintain the premises
  • Properly terminating tenancies
  • How to handle security deposit disputes
  • When writs of possession are necessary

And a variety of other topics as well as a Q&A!

Instructors:  Jerron Kelley, Attorney and Partner at Kelley & Grant P.A.
J. Conrad Grant, Attorney and Partner at Kelley & Grant P.A.

Session II: Fair Housing - Let's put aside - for a few moments at least - what to say and what not to say and what to do and what not do. Instead, let's focus on how to "be" and then work out the "say" and "do"!  We'll review protected classes, and how to manage our words and actions and we'll review industry best practices, particularly with regard to today's hot issues: Disability accommodations and modifications, service animals and pets, handicap vs. accessible parking spaces, and we'll have some time to respond to your specific questions.
