This 3-hour class is an introduction and overview of the most common types of
electrical meters and how to use them effectively in troubleshooting single components and electrical systems. Topics include: Types of meters, electrical safety, meter safety, voltage, current and resistance measurements and how they can contribute to effective basic troubleshooting.

Topics covered in this class will include:
- The differences between voltage, current and resistance
- Identify electrical symbols
- Determine the difference between Series and Parallel circuits
- Recognize the most commonly used meter functions
- Select the correct meter for the identified testing and use it safely
- Test for voltage, current, resistance and continuity
- Test electrical components relating to Appliances, HVAC equipment and
common electrical circuits
(Students should bring their own multi-meter to the class)
