Session I: REPAIR VS. REPLACE AND MAKE-READY MAINTENANCE ( 9 am - 12 pm)

Course Description:
This multi-focused session will provide an overview of the typical make-ready process for multifamily housing. We will review the guidelines for executing an efficient make-ready program and acknowledge some of the changes that are occurring in the industry. This session is not intended for customers who already have an established make-ready program or who may be using a
third- party solution. This session will also discuss one of the most difficult challenges that arise from both the make-ready process and routine maintenance: When is it truly time to replace vs. when something just needs a repair? Our experts will walk you through the overall assessment of the failed component or components and if it makes sense to invest in a repair vs. purchasing a replacement. We will discuss the importance of overall diagnostics and the cost of parts and labor vs. the cost of replacement, and the potential warranty coverages associated with component(s)

Learning Outcomes:
●Demonstrate how to prepare and use a make-ready checklist.
● Assess what to include in an inspection and how to conduct one thoroughly.
● Understand make-ready methods and best practices.
● Understanding product warranties and how to manage them.
● Weighing the cost and time of a repair vs. the cost of replacement.
